Steve Jobs - We were assigned to create a piece using no mark making, only paper manipulation. The recently deceased Steve Jobs was quoted as saying "Why be in the navy when you could be a pirate". Using the "w", "a", and "c", when flipped, the letters spell “Mac”, referencing his work. The font was Helvetica (except the “a” so that it could be flipped), chosen because it was his favourite font and the default on all Macintosh machines.
Wolfgang, John and Justin - We were assigned an "erasure" project: draw, fully erase, draw, partially erase, draw. Portraits of famous musicians were used in order to comment on their perceived impactfulness.
Natural - Different illustrations of observed nature. The work was hung using hard black plastic and hemp rope, the intention being to juxtapose the materials and question the objects we choose.
